MUSHROOMS INFO

Until recently it was thought that mushrooms don't have any healthy nutrition. It turned out to be wrong; they are not only tasty, but also contain many natural ingredients.

They contain: proteins, B-group vitamins, pantoteine and glutamine acids, and microelements like copper and iron. 100g mushrooms contain as much as 115 mg of phosphorus (important in cell reproduction and good in keeping teeth and bones strong and healthy), and 500 mg of potassium (mineral helpful in regulating high blood pressure). Mushrooms also contain: fat, carbohydrates, enzymes, and chrome.

Mushrooms provide us with cellulose (roughage). Prepared without fat they may be a great food for those trying to loose weight because they work as fillers. They have antibiotic skills and lower cholesterol level.

Mushrooms prepared in the wrong way may loose their nutritious values. It is enough to boil them for several minutes; if longer they do not get softer but lose aroma and vitamins. They are a great protein supplement for gruel, rice, and vegetables, especially beans, green peas, and cauliflowers. They are valued for their taste and aroma, which enrich many dishes.
